First and foremost, it is “the revelation of Jesus Christ”! Unlike other books in the Bible, it came directly from Christ, with a blessing on all who read it and take it’s messages to heart. It builds on New Testament themes, like the gospel of the Cross and spiritual victory.
Most of the book is founded on the Old Testament, compelling the student to study all of Scripture. Like Daniel, Revelation contain prophetic history. By outlining the future and working through it, God’s gives us reason to have confidence in His Word.
Revelation contains Jesus’ last words for His Church. It was written with the purpose of guiding us through to the End.
